"For the Love of Reading"
Feb. 1st - Feb. 12th
Dates to Remember:
Log Your Minutes: Feb 1st - Feb. 12th
Turn in Your Minutes and Money: Feb. 17th (or earlier)
Join Us on Feb. 9th from 6-7:30 p.m. for a family reading night!
Teachers and Principal Osterhues will be calling in the evenings throughout the Read-A-Thon to check to see if they can "catch" kids reading! If caught, students will be recognized on the Wolf Report during morning announcements and will have their photo featured in the school's main entry.
The top 2 readers in each class, based on minutes read, will enjoy donuts with Mrs. Osterhues during the week following the Read-A-Thon. The top fundraising class will enjoy an ice cream sundae party!
Parent/Teacher Evening Conferences - Feb. 18 and Feb. 25, 2016
Online scheduling for Parent/Teacher Conferences will begin on Thursday, Jan. 28th. Parents/guardians may schedule parent/teacher conferences online through Family and Student Access.
Willow River Elementary would like all conferences scheduled by Friday, Feb. 12th. You will need your Family Access Login and Password to schedule for your student. If you do not know your Login/Password, please contact the office at 715-377-3880.
Only one 15-minute conference is scheduled per student. As in the past, we continue to encourage parents in split families to attend the same conference time. Please coordinate who will log into Family Access, choose the time slot, and communicate the time to the other parent. Thanks in advance for your help with this additional step! Also, if you have more than one student at Willow River, you will need to schedule a conference time for each of your students. Remember to leave time between appointments to allow yourself "travel time" between classrooms (e.g., schedule first conference at 4:15, schedule second conference at 4:45).
The link for Family Access is also located on the school's web page, in the center column, directly above the Daily Announcements.
for directions to assist you with the conference scheduling process.
Family Vacation Requests
Whenever possible, family vacations should be taken when school is not in session. When circumstances require a student to miss school for a family vacation, the parent/guardian must notify the school prior to the absence and complete the Family Vacation Request form. Failure to notify the school through the Family Vacation Request form and/or make up work missed may result in an unexcused absence.
